May 2018 Newsletter
Hello Friends!
The season is changing, warming up, and brightening. All things natural are coming to life! This weekend is Echo Park Craft Fair's 'May Fair'. Please come and see all of the naturally dyed clothes made in collaboration with Jennifer Parry Dodge. She and her sister will be sharing a space also showing kids clothes, hand bags, and Ermie designs. I've always loved EPCF for it's beautiful mood, and how it capture's Los Angeles' artisanal spirit. And am happy to be participating at Jennifer's invite. We've made luscious mellon colored velvet pieces, soft organic cotton tees, and upcycled tops! For more info on the event, see the Facebook invite, or Check out EPCF on insta

ICON AWARD WINNER: RUTH E. CARTER
Just last week, LA Design Festival released the latest installment of their podcast called Design Etc. It's a conversation with this year's Icon Award winner, Costume Designer Ruth E. Carter. The ICON award recognizes one woman per year since LADF's inception, who have made an indelible mark on Los Angeles, culture, and society in general through their work, character, and creative leadership. It was an honor to go to her home, and talk about her costume design for Black Panther, Amistad, and Selma (just to name a few!). Check out the Interview of Ruth E. Carter .
